Germany in dire need of 150,000 nurses from foreign countries!

According to Schengen News, Germany will need 150,000 additional nurses by 2025. The trend of shortage of nurses in Germany has been evident for years, and for this reason, the authorities are trying to bring more foreign nurses into the country through the international recruitment program.

The country wants to tackle the shortage through its “Triple Win” program. So far, the focus has been on nurses from Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. However, Thai nurses are known for the skills and style of care taking and will be a real asset to the ailing German healthcare system.

As the name suggests, the Triple Win program addresses several challenges:

First, the program offers participants promising career opportunities in Germany, where there is a pressing need for qualified nurses. Second, the money sent back to participants' home countries contributes to important development policies. And finally, it reduces the surplus of qualified professionals in the countries of origin while helping to alleviate the shortage of skilled workers in Germany.

As the German authorities announced, Germany, in cooperation with countries with high numbers of skilled workers, has identified potential recruits in the Philippines, Indonesia and Kerala (India).

Young people with previous experience in the field complete nursing training in Germany. After completing the program, they can, in most cases, find employment in the country.

It is very important to know that anyone who wants to work as a nurse in Germany must have knowledge of the German language (B1 or B2), and our goal as ASL Health is to provide language programs for Thai nurses to be able to work in Germany.
