Required Documents for Thai Healthcare Professionals
For Thai healthcare professionals looking to work in hospitals and nursing homes in Germany, there are several essential documents required. This guide outlines the necessary paperwork and certifications needed to make the transition smooth and compliant with German regulations.
Valid Passport
The passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay.
Work Visa
The visa application must be submitted to the German Embassy in Thailand.
Recognition of Qualification
Thai nursing qualifications must be officially recognized in Germany. This process ensures that your education and training meet German standards
Language Certificate
At least B1 level of German language is required. However, B2 is recommended for better career prospects and integration.
(The certificate must come from a recognized institution, such as the Goethe-Institute, to be considered valid).
Financial Proof
Evidence of sufficient funds to cover your stay until employment begins.
Health Insurance
Proof of valid health insurance coverage (this can also be travel insurance) until the start of employment.
Health Certificate
A medical certificate confirming suitability to work in the healthcare sector.
Criminal Record
Police clearance certificate from Thailand, not older than 3 months
CV
Complete CV (curriculum vitae) with information about your education and professional background. You can find a sample CV here.
Additional Certificates
Proof of additional qualifications and work experience (if available).
Employment Contract
A signed contract from a German employer (hospital clinic or nursing home) is required. This proves that you have secured a job in the German healthcare system.
Translations and Legalization
Professional qualifications, police clearance certificate, health certificate and proof of additional qualifications must be translated into German by a certified translator to ensure accuracy and official recognition.
